About Us

We attract a lively and friendly congregation, from the local area and further afield.

We celebrate Holy Communion at 10am every Sunday; and enjoy a family service once a month. At all our services, there is an area for the very young to occupy themselves safely with their carers during worship.

We seek to meet the needs of the older members, some who are residents of the Court of Lady Katherine Leveson where we offer a weekly Dementia friendly service on Thursdays at 11am. The liturgy is lightly crafted, we sing hymns and offer Holy Communion.

We encourage and nurture children, and those who attend the Lady Katherine Leveson Primary School. Pupils and staff attend for a weekly service every Thursday during the school term at 9am, for around half an hour.

Some members of the congregation have been part of the life and worship of St. Mary's for a number of years and some have joined more recently.

​

We foster an open, thoughtful and positive attitude to faith in the in the modern world, taking account of the realities of our lives and of the fundamentals of the Christian way. Pastoral needs are met with compassion. Baptisms, marriages and funerals are given attentive and sympathetic care.

Our beautiful church is often open. You are welcome to come inside to pray or to meditate on the beautiful stained glass or to sit quietly in a space that has been prayed and worshipped in throughout the centuries.
